Amorim agrees deal to replace Ten Hag as Man Utd manager

Sporting Lisbon manager, Ruben Amorim, has agreed to take over at Manchester United following Erik ten Hag’s sack on Monday, according to The Athletic.

United have moved quickly to open talks with the 39-year-old.

The Premier League club is ready to pay the €10m release clause in Amorim’s current contract.

Amorim is believed to be keen on the job and United will try to negotiate with Sporting for the coach.

The Portuguese was one of the names sounded out in the wake of Ten Hag’s departure.

Other managers who have been considered include former Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez, Brentford manager Thomas Frank and ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic.
