Trump wins another key state, Georgia in US Election

Former President Donald Trump has won Georgia and its 16 electoral votes, according to NBC and CNN.

This comes after Trump won the state of North Carolina, one of the key battleground states.

Recall that President Joe Biden narrowly beat Trump in the state in 2020. In 2016, Trump won Georgia.

CNN reports that Georgia is a relatively new battleground state in presidential politics.

The state also determined Democrats would control the Senate in two runoff elections in 2021.

Before the election, Trump and several of his advisers had been indicted for their actions in Georgia during the 2020 election.
