Over 1,000 fans celebrate PUBG MOBILE community dinner

More than 1,000 PUBG MOBILE fans came together on March 28 for a special Community Dinner at The Recreation Center in Anthony, Lagos.

The free event, hosted by PUBG MOBILE, one of the world’s most popular mobile games, was filled with excitement, games, food, and real-life friendships.

The venue came alive as gamers from all walks of life gathered to share their passion.

The atmosphere was full of energy, laughter, and connection.

It was not just about playing a game, it was about celebrating the community that has formed around it.

From beginners to experienced players, everyone had something to enjoy. Newcomers got a taste of what it’s like to dive into the action of PUBG MOBILE, exploring virtual maps, forming teams, and sharing strategies with other gamers.

For many, it was their first time playing the game, and they were thrilled by the experience.

Ahmed, a university student who tried the game for the first time at the event, said: “It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Playing with people from different parts of the world, chatting, strategizing, and surviving together—it was incredible. I can’t wait to introduce my friends at school and challenge rival hostels!”

Veteran players were also excited to finally meet teammates and fellow gamers in person.

They used the opportunity to strengthen their gaming squads, exchange tips, and make new friends.

The night ended with selfies, social media posts, and customized PUBG MOBILE cards as souvenirs.

Head of Tencent Games in Sub-Saharan Africa, Brian said the event showed how games can bring people together in real life. “Seeing attendees laugh, strategize, and celebrate in real time reminded us why community-driven events like this matter,” he said.

“The overwhelming response reaffirms our commitment to bringing people together—both online and in person.”

The success of the Lagos event marks the beginning of PUBG MOBILE’s plan to grow its presence in Africa.

The brand hopes to organize more local events that allow players to connect, have fun, and share their love for the game—not just online, but face-to-face.

PUBG MOBILE is based on the popular game PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS.

In the game, up to 100 players parachute onto an island and fight to be the last person or team standing. Players collect weapons, drive vehicles, and survive in a shrinking play zone.

It is co-developed by LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS of Tencent Games and KRAFTON, Inc.

You can download PUBG MOBILE for free from the App Store or Google Play. For updates and more information, follow their official pages on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
