All Progressives Congress chairmanship aspirant for Agege Local Government in Lagos State, Sola Osolana, has criticised a statement by Chairman, Ganiyu Egunjobi.
Egunjobi was said to have called Osolana a United Kingdom resident.
His comment followed outcome of the primaries in Agege council and Orile Agege Local Government Development Area (LCDA).
Egunjobi was referring to those he called “sore losers, who, for years, ostracised themselves from APC and our communities.’’
He said, among others, Osolana is not rooted in the activities of the community.
“The leadership of the party adopted consensus or delegate voting for the primaries with council excos as voters.
“In Agege and Orile-Agege, excos were constituted about four years ago when most of them distanced themselves from the party… he said.
In his reaction, Osolana said: ‘‘I am a resident of Agege, who has businesses in the council. While many politicians are afraid of putting their businesses here, I have many residents as employees.
“I challenge Egunjobi to take a walk in Agege with me without security and let the media cover the event, it is then he will know if Osolana is UK based or rooted in Agege.
“On employment opportunities, I challenge him to name jobs or businesses he has established in Agege using his private funds. I have established businesses in Agege which he benefited from before he became chairman…“Osolana said.
The politician noted that his foundation, Sola Osolana Foundation, has contributed to Agege and Orile Agege.
He said: “I have funded empowerment for Agege women and youths; scholarships, and incentives for sports competitions in schools at Agege and Orile Agege LCDA.”
