Actress Sarah Martins apologises to Davido over restaurant misconception

Actress Sarah Martins has issued a public apology to Afrobeats star Davido following a misunderstanding about his 5ive Star Food venture.

Martins had previously advised Davido on Instagram, suggesting that the venture, which she believed was a restaurant, should have been named after his wife, Chioma, known for her culinary skills.

She expressed admiration for the couple, stating her comments came from a place of love, not hate.

Davido swiftly clarified that 5ive Star Food was not a restaurant but a promotional campaign with FoodCourt app for his album 5IVE, and he demanded Martins remove Chioma’s photo from her post.

In response, Martins posted an apology video on Instagram, admitting she was misinformed by a post from a food blogger.

She expressed regret for any perceived disrespect, emphasising her status as a “die-hard fan” of Davido and Chioma.

She wrote: “One and only 001 @davido. The king himself, the crown of my sis Chioma, the apple of our eyes ( 30BGs) pls I’m truly sorry if you felt disrespected
