PHDL Engages Kurudu Residents in Proactive Town Hall Meetings

In a continued effort to strengthen community relations and support improved estate management, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Post-Service Housing Development Limited (PHDL), Major General Isaiah Allison, held town hall meetings with residents of Kurudu 1 and 2 Estates in Abuja.

The meetings, held on 1 July, 2025, provided an open forum for direct engagement between PHDL leadership and residents. They follow similar town hall sessions recently held with PHDL estates in Ibadan, Oyo State, and Ojo, Lagos State.

At Kurudu 1, residents and executive members of the Residents’ Association participated in a robust discussion covering infrastructure improvements, estate security, enforcement of estate rules, and other emerging concerns. President of the Residents’ Association, General Lot Linus (Rtd) welcomed the MD and presented the collective concerns of residents.

Major General Allison emphasized the importance of standardizing operations across all PHDL estates and reaffirmed that funds contributed by residents are to be accounted for, properly managed and used solely for estate running—under the purview of the Residents’ Association Executives. He also stressed the need for strict adherence to estate rules to promote order and livability.

A similar meeting was held immediately afterward with residents of Kurudu 2. Chairman of the Residents’ Association, Hon. Okpara Christian, welcomed the MD and outlined residents’ challenges. The session provided another opportunity for open dialogue between residents and PHDL leadership.

Major General Allison reiterated PHDL’s commitment to improving living conditions across its estates. He commended the Kurudu estates, describing them as “a model and an example to many other estates”, and called for greater financial accountability from estate executives who manage residents’ contributions for the day-to-day running of the estates.

The MD/CEO assured residents that their feedback would guide future interventions and reaffirmed PHDL’s dedication to supporting safe, well-maintained, and thriving residential environments.
