Conversations shape culture, behaviour – Aproko Doctor

Popular social media personality and health advocate, Aproko Doctor, has emphasised the powerful influence of beliefs, storytelling, and everyday conversations on human behaviour and societal norms.

Speaking recently on the importance of shaping narratives, the medical doctor noted that many of the behaviours people exhibit today stem from stories and beliefs they grew up with, often passed down through generations.

“When you look at the behaviours we currently see in society, they were shaped by the beliefs and stories we’ve told ourselves over time,” he said. “They were built by the conversations people have—whether through life experiences or matters of the heart.”

Aproko Doctor, whose real name is Dr. Chinonso Egemba, stressed that culture and behavioural patterns are deeply rooted in communal conversations. According to him, the dominant culture in any environment reflects what people are saying and what they hold dear.

“If you examine the prevailing culture in a particular place, look at what is in their hearts and the conversations they are having. Those are the elements that shape behaviour. So, if we can influence what people are talking about, we can influence how they behave—it’s all about how the message is told.”

Renowned for simplifying health information for the average Nigerian, Aproko Doctor has consistently used his platforms to spark impactful conversations around wellness, lifestyle, and social responsibility.
