He was born in Agogo, a lively town in the Ashante Akim area, where he attended Agogo Roman school– a place that laid the early foundation for his remarkable musical journey.

Some of his classics like ‘Jealousy go shame,’ ‘Dabi Dabi Ebeye yie,’ ‘Akwadaa wesoa,’ and ‘Iron boy’ continue to echo through parties, family celebrations and radio waves proving just how enduring his influence is.

Known for constantly reinventing his sound while staying true to his highlife roots, Amakye Dede has collaborated with artists across generations including rapper Sarkodie.
