Ayra Starr earns RIAA Latin diamond certification with ‘Santa’

Award-winning singer Ayra Starr has made history as the first African artist to earn a Latin Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Her song “Santa,” a collaboration with Rvssian and Rauw Alejandro, achieved this milestone after grossing over 35 million streams.

This feat places her alongside Rema, whose song “Bubalu” is certified Platinum, as one of the only African artists with RIAA Latin certifications.

The song has been a huge success globally, earning multiple Platinum certifications in Spain and Mexico.

It also topped the Spanish chart and peaked at No. 2 in Colombia, Ecuador, and Central America.

“Santa” blends Afrobeats and reggaeton influences, featuring Spanish and English lyrics, which has contributed to its international success.
