Tiwa Savage Explains ‘On The Low’ Collaboration with Skepta

Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage has revealed how she collaborated with British-Nigerian rapper Skepta on her new single “On The Low”.

According to Savage, she casually reached out to Skepta via direct message and was surprised by how quickly things fell into place.

She narrated how she visited Skepta in the studio, played him the record and he loved it.

“So, ladies, I want to say that it does work sometimes when you slide into that dm. But I did slide into the dm and I was like, hey, big smoke. I didn’t really tell him up front what I wanted. Kind of was just like, I’m in London.

“What you doing? He’s like, yo, I’m in the studio. I’m like, oh, cool. So I went over and played him the record, and he loved it. I particularly loved shooting the visuals for this. So if you haven’t seen it, make sure you check it out,” she narrated.

The song, released on July 30, 2025, has been receiving massive love from fans across Nigeria and the UK.

On The Low” is part of Savage’s upcoming album “This One Is Personal,” set to drop on August 29, 2025.
