US influencer and reality star Raymond Harper popularly known as Rolling Ray has passed away at 28.
His mother confirmed the news to TMZ, and his network, Zeus, also announced his passing.
The Zeus Network described him as “gone way too soon” and celebrated his impact on their shows, including “Bobby I Love You, Purr,” and “The Conversation”
“Gone way too soon. #RestInPeace to the BIG hearted, most Raw, & Real FRIEND & #Zeus Star #RaymondHarper aka @iamrollingray. Your Laughter, Light, & Loving Spirit will Live on FOREVER,” the network wrote on Instagram.
Rolling Ray gained popularity in 2018 with his appearance on MTV’s Catfish: Trolls and later went viral on Divorce Court in 2019.
He became a prominent figure on social media, amassing over 449,000 Instagram followers and a growing TikTok audience.
Rolling Ray was widely credited with popularising the catchphrase “purr,” now used globally as an expression of excitement and approval.
He was born with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) type 3, a genetic condition that weakens muscles over time but despite doctors predicting he wouldn’t live past 14, he defied medical expectations and lived a fulfilling life.
In a 2023 interview, Rolling Ray reflected on his journey, saying, “At first, they said I was going to die at 14 years old. The doctor was wrong. Science changed, and doctors are not always right. God is good.”
Rolling Ray leaves behind a legacy as an outspoken and fearless voice in pop culture and social media.
