72-hour nonstop shift ends LUTH doctor’s life

Tweeps have taken to X to express their opinions over the passing of a young physician named Dr. Umoh Michael, who passed away on Sunday after supposedly working for 72 straight hours. Michael reportedly passed away on September 17 at the United Evangelical worship during a worship service. He was alleged to have performed a continuous 72-hour shift while a resident physician at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Idi-Araba. Traditional leaders advise Nigerians to buy indigenous goods

His Royal Highness, Alhaji Musa Achuja, Chairman of the Ajaokuta Local Government Area Traditional Council and Ohi of Eganyi, has urged Nigerians to always support locally produced goods to promote the industrial revolution and independence. The traditional ruler stated that the country’s economy can only expand if the goods produced by local companies are in a position to compete well with those produced abroad in his introductory remarks at the ongoing 5th Kogi Built Environment and Building Materials Exhibition, which is being hosted at the Idrinana Hotel and Suites, Lokoja. The Monarch also pushed local businesses to produce high-quality goods that could pass an international standard test. The “Profitability and Quality Advantages of Made in Nigeria Housing Development and Materials” subject of this year’s expo has drawn a large number of producers and businesspeople. Dangote Cement Plc, Royal Ceramic, the National Association of Block Moulders of Nigeria, the Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Milk and Honey Luxury Homes, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and the Labour Office, Lokoja are among the exhibitors at the Lokoja BEBM show. Among other presentations, the opening ceremony’s highlights included an explanation of the benefits of using West African Ceramics Limited’s ceramic products, a video demonstration of the manufacturing process, and a documentary on the company’s tiles. The National Orientation Agency and the Nigeria Export Promotion Council each gave a keynote speech. Deserving individuals also received the Shelter Development Icons of the Decade award for their contributions to the growth of the industry.
