Diasporans hails emergence of Akpabio, says 10th Assembly will deliver good governance

Nigerians in diaspora hails the election of Senator Godswill Akpabio as President of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, President General of Global Peace Movement International, UK Dr. Mike Uyi particularly appreciated President Ahmed Tinubu for insisting on Godswill Akpabio for the position.

Uyi said Nigerians in all the continent have reiterated confidence in President Tinubu and Akpabio to deliver good governance to Nigerians.

Uyi noted that Nigeria as a country with many development challenges including poverty, illiteracy and unemployment, needed experienced and visionary leaders, who tactfully will strategise towards solving the challenges.

“We want to unequivocally state that, with Akpabio as President of the Senate, Nigerians will experience good governance and greater prosperity because the legislature and the executive would work together to move the nation to next level.

“Akpabio had made an indelible mark when he served as the governor of Akwa Ibom State for two terms. His records are sparkling and unparalleled. As the Minister of Niger Delta he initiated policies that helped overhaul the Niger Delta Development Commission and brought relative sanity to the agency. Projects are now accounted for in the agency,” he said.
