Insecurity: Reps Speaker urges Tinubu to take tougher stance

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abass has charged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to shy away from taking tough decisions in tackling insecurity in the country.

The Speaker said this on Tuesday while welcoming lawmakers back at the resumption of plenary after the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Hon. Abass decried the heinous murder of over 30 people in Plateau State, as well as many others who have fallen victims to the mindless acts of terror in the last few weeks.

He challenged the President to rise to the occasion by doing more in safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians.

Speaking further, the Speaker tasked members to be ready to contribute to legislative actions that will help curb the insecurity menace bedeviling the nation.

Abbas informed them formally of an impending security’s summit on affected parts of the country with the view of stamping out the nefarious activities of killers, bandits and kidnappers who now move freely all over the country.
