Alia directs Attorney General to sue Aare Abiodun, Nigerian Concord Newspaper for libel

The governor of Benue state, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia has directed the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. F.B. Mnyim to immediately institute a libel suit against Nigerian Concord Newspaper and it’s publisher, Aare Abiodun Oluwarotimi.

The decision was taken during a meeting between the governor and members of his kitchen cabinet last night.

The plan according to information at the disposal of this newspaper is to use a certain corrupt judge (Name Withheld) to give a judgement that will compel the newspaper from further exposing the poor governance of the governor.

“The newspaper will be restrained from further writing about His Excellency if the governor actually goes ahead with his plan” a source said this morning.

Recall that the governor gave the same order towards the end of last year but was advised by some stakeholders in the state from taking such dangerous step.
