Divorce: Court Orders Swedish Millionaire To Give Ex-husband Over £6m

The Deputy High Judge of the Royal Courts of Justice in London, Leslie Samuels, has ordered that Swedish millionaire heiress, Louise Backstrom, 33, give her former husband, Martin Wennberg, 39, more than £6.5 million, following the breakdown of their six-year marriage.

The couple had been entangled in a dispute over money in the family court after Wennberg filed for a financial package worth more than £40 million following their separation, but the judge ruled against the amount.

Judge Samuels considered the evidence at a recent private hearing and outlined his conclusions in a written judgment, Daily Mail reported on Tuesday.

The judge ruled that Backstrom’s £6.5 million “housing fund” offer in accordance with the terms of a pre-marital agreement should carry “full weight”.

She should also hand over about £60,000 a year for the next six years to meet Mr Wennberg’s “income needs”.

Backstrom, who is worth £250 million, was chairman of the Biltema Foundation and a minority shareholder in Birgma Holdings (Hong Kong) Limited, a family business from scratch controlled by her grandfather.
