Supreme Court affirms Yusuf’s victory as Kano governor

Nigeria’s Supreme Court has affirmed the victory of Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) as the Kano State Governor.

Justice John Okoro, of the Supreme Court who read the lead Judgement said the Court of Appeal was wrong in upholding the decision of the tribunal, which held that Yusuf did not win the majority of lawful votes cast at the Governorship Election.
