Nigeria Silenced Cameroon 2-0

Nigeria dispatched Cameroon out of the ongoing AFCON competition by 2-0 in a tension packed match at Abidjan late on Saturday.

Nigeria showed early determination of quieting their noisome eastern neighbour when Ajayi in the ninth minute appeared to have scored the first goal but it was eventually ruled ineligible.

However, Lookman opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 36th minute after he capitalized on a blunder from the Cameroonian side after African footballer of the year, Osimhen stole the ball from a defender.

Nigeria’s second goal was scored in the 90th minute again by Lookman.
