Iheanacho backs Finidi for Super Eagles coaching job

Kelechi Iheanacho believes Finidi George is the right man to lead the Super Eagles, according to reports.

Finidi was confirmed as Super Eagles interim head coach this week.

The 53-year-old, who is also the head of Nigeria Premier Football League champions, Enyimba led the Super Eagles to a 2-1 victory against perennial rivals Ghana on Friday.

The former midfielder will also take charge of Nigeria’s friendly against Mali next week.

With several other notable coaches jostling for the position of Super Eagles head coach, Iheanacho has backed Finidi for the job.

“The coach (Finidi) has done a great job, it’s a short time for him to work with us. It’s just only him at the moment.

Hopefully, he will get more chances with the team,” Iheanacho said after the game against Ghana at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Friday.
