‘If we can’t win it, we’ll congratulate them’ – Guardiola on title race

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said he is ready to congratulate any team that beats them to the title.

Guardiola was speaking after their 5-1 win over Luton Town on Saturday, which saw the champions provisionally climb to the top of the Premier League table.

City now have 73 points with six games left in a thrilling three-way title race.

They are two points ahead of both Arsenal and Liverpool, who can climb over City with victories in their respective games on Sunday.

“For a few hours [we are top],” Guardiola told the BBC.

“[Sunday] they have to play; all we can do is win our games and if we cannot do it, we congratulate them.”
