Only 32 police officers securing 200 villages in Katsina

The Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda has claimed that only 32 police officers are currently patrolling one Local Government Area, LGA.

Governor Radda stated this while speaking about the unending security challenges bedevilling his state.

In a now trending interview with DW Hausa, he revealed that only nine guns with five operational vehicles are available for the 32 officers.

In the video, the governor who didn’t name the LGA, said, “Currently in Katsina, there is a local government with 32 policemen and nine guns, and the serviceable guns are five.

“The LGA has 10 political wards, with more than 200 villages. How can a police force with 32 personnel protect them?

“We have come up with an initiative to give any community that is ready to defend itself the necessary support and training to engage criminals before the arrival of the security agents.”
