Troops Thwart Bandits’ Attack On Plateau Villages

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s have thwarted an attempt by armed to attack some villages in Plateau State

A statement released on Tuesday by the army says the bandits were ambushed and neutralised by troops of 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven, following credible intelligence on plans by bandits to attack Teng and Kayarda Villages in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of the state.

The Army says during the operation, troops in ambush positions, made contact and neutralised 3 bandits with others fleeing in the process. The troops further recovered 4 AK-47 rifles, 4 AK-47 magazines and 56 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition from the bandits.

The recovered arms and ammunition, according to the statement are in the custody of the troops, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing members of the group of bandits.

The operational success has been described as a testament to the continued efforts of troops to rid the Joint Operations Area of assailants whose activities have been largely frustrated by it’s own troops
The Army’s Special Task Force says the ongoing crackdown will be sustained
