Development Commission Poised for Full Launch

Southwest Development Commission (SWDC) has said it is set for full take-off, following the inaugural board meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The meeting, held on Monday and Tuesday, brought together all newly inaugurated members of the commission’s board, including the Chairman, Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi; the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), Dr Charles Akinola; executive directors and other board members.

At the meeting, the board outlined an ambitious agenda aimed at unlocking the full economic potential of the Southwest.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the MD/CEO said the commission was determined to deliver on its statutory mandate in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said: “The establishment of the Southwest Development Commission is a landmark intervention by President Tinubu to address the developmental challenges of our region in a coordinated, strategic and sustainable manner.
