Edo NSCDC Commandant Dies Unexpectedly After Slumping in Public

The Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Agun Gbenga, died yesterday in Benin after collapsing during a public event.

Gbenga slumped shortly after delivering a goodwill message at a programme organised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) held at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Centre.

Attendees immediately attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful. He was rushed to the Military Base Hospital in Benin, where doctors confirmed him dead.

The late commandant was among those scheduled to receive an award at the event.
