Fresh Rift Rocks ADC as Binani Faces Backlash Over Alleged APC Connection

Fresh controversy has emerged within opposition circles following allegations that Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani) may be acting in alignment with interests linked to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, amid rising tensions in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State.

According to a report by Sahara Reporters, sources within the ADC alleged that recent political moves by Binani have raised concerns among party stakeholders.

Central to the controversy is her reported decision to boycott the ADC state congress despite allegedly agreeing to a previously negotiated internal arrangement.

The situation has been further complicated by reports that the Federal Government approved the reactivation of her grounded airline, Binani Air, allowing it to resume operations.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) reportedly issued an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to the airline on March 18, 2026.

Some party insiders считают the timing of the approval politically significant, suggesting it may be linked to broader strategic interests.

They also argue that the focus on Adamawa and the unfolding developments have heightened suspicions of external influence aimed at weakening the ADC’s internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The sources further alleged that what they described as increasing interference by the Tinubu administration reflects concerns over a strengthening opposition. However, no official response has been issued by Binani or her associates regarding the claims.

The unfolding developments have deepened divisions within the ADC and raised questions about loyalty, political strategy, and control within Nigeria’s opposition landscape.

Analysts note that as political realignments intensify nationwide, such allegations—whether substantiated or not—could shape public perception and influence stakeholder confidence ahead of future elections.
