Babajide Sanwo-Olu has endorsed deputy Obafemi Hamzat for the Lagos state APC governorship ticket.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, endorsed his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat, for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Lagos.
The endorsement followed a series of consultations by Hamzat with key political stakeholders, including Femi Gbajabiamila, Wale Edun, and Tokunbo Abiru, as well as leaders of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).
Sanwo-Olu publicly backed Hamzat during a meeting at the State House, Marina, describing him as competent and well-prepared to lead the state. He said Hamzat’s experience and understanding of Lagos positioned him to continue ongoing development efforts.
Hamzat, in his remarks, pledged to sustain the state’s progress and build on the achievements of the current administration, stressing his commitment to governance, continuity, and service to Lagos residents.
The endorsement is expected to shape the APC’s governorship race in Lagos ahead of the 2027 elections.
