Abuja — China’s SINOTRUK, officially China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd, has deepened its presence in Nigeria with the launch of a new range of heavy-duty vehicles in Abuja, alongside technical training centres and spare parts distribution hubs aimed at improving after-sales support nationwide.
The event in Abuja brought together government officials, transport operators, logistics stakeholders, and industry partners, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion strategy in West Africa’s largest economy.
Speaking at the ceremony, Steven Liu, Deputy General Manager of SINOTRUK West African Division, said the initiative targets key challenges in Nigeria’s transport and logistics sector.
“The initiative is aimed at addressing key challenges facing Nigeria’s transport and logistics sector, including access to quality vehicles, technical manpower development and availability of genuine spare parts,” Liu said.
Commerce and industry experts at the event said the expansion signals growing investor confidence in Nigeria’s transport and infrastructure sectors despite prevailing economic challenges. They added that improved after-sales support and technical training could contribute significantly to raising operational standards in the country’s haulage industry.
Other speakers included Chijioke Ekechukwu, Vice President Commerce at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Li Guang of Franklin Commercial Vehicle Power Sales.
