President Bola Tinubu receives security briefings from service chiefs and intelligence agencies during the National Security Council meeting in Abuja.
President Bola Tinubu on Thursday presided over a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) at the State House.
During the meeting, the President received briefings on the security situation across the country from top military officers led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede.
Service chiefs and heads of security and intelligence agencies, including the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Defence Intelligence Agency and Department of State Services (DSS), briefed the President on the latest security developments in their respective formations.
The meeting, held at the President’s office, was attended by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the Special Adviser to the President on Homeland Security, Major General Adeyinka Famadewa; the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu; and the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lieutenant General Emmanuel Akomaye Undiandeye.
Also in attendance were the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi.
