AAC Demands Presidential Villa, Feeding For 5,000 Supporters At Sowore Campaign Council Inauguration

Sowore’s African Action Congress asks Tinubu to approve Aso Rock for its campaign council inauguration and provide food and logistics for 5,000 participants.

The African Action Congress (AAC) has asked President Bola Tinubu to approve the use of the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, for the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party also requested food, drinks and logistical support for 5,000 participants expected to attend the event on November 11, 2026.

In a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by its National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, the AAC said the inauguration would be held in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

The party said its request was based on the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness and equal treatment of political parties.

It also cited arrangements reportedly extended to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement.

“In the spirit of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties, we also request the provision of food, drinks, and other logistical support for 5,000 participants from home and abroad at the event, consistent with the arrangements reportedly extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement,” the letter read.

The AAC said granting its request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to fairness and equal access for political parties.

“We believe that granting this request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to fairness, equal access, and the principle that public institutions must serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination,” the party stated.

The party also asked the President to communicate the procedures and conditions applicable to the approval.

“We look forward to your favourable consideration of this request and would appreciate information on the applicable procedures and conditions for its approval,” the letter added.

The request comes as political parties prepare for the 2027 general elections, with the AAC seeking access to the seat of government for its campaign council inauguration and logistical assistance for participants travelling from within and outside Nigeria.
