Insecurity: Atiku vows to end Southern Kaduna killings

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in next year’s general elections, Alh. Atiku Abubakar has assured the people of Southern Kaduna of curbing the life-long insecurity that has bedeviled the area if elected.

Speaking at the 60th birthday anniversary of Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Kure, the Vision Pioneer of Throneroom (Trust) Ministry in Kafachan, the headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, he commiserated with the people of Southern Kaduna on the recent killings going on in the area.

Atiku explained that insecurity is not only in Southern Kaduna but a national phenomenon, stressing that he would take decisive measures to deal with the situation in order to enhance the living standards of the people.

“All the geopolitical zones have one security challenge or the other, we have to look at the holistic approach to bring about peaceful coexistence amongst all inhabitants of this country. The people should expect restructuring of the police, creation of local police to complement the Nigeria Police towards the maintenance of law and order,” he stressed.

The celebrant, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Kure urged all watchmen to hold hands and pray for the success of the country’s 2023 general elections and for God to give the country a God-fearing leader.

Mr Jonathan Asake, the Kaduna gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party congratulated Apostle Kure for attaining sixty and prayed God to keep him for more years to continue with the spiritual direction he has been giving the people and the land.

On his part, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State chapter, Rev. John Joseph Hayab noted that the recent massacre had further proven that the killers of the Southern Kaduna people had not yet been neutralized as claimed.

He said the federal government and the security agencies must not let the killers escape.

According to him, “These renewed killings may be a strategy to scare the people from exercising their rights and to further increase fear and impoverish them.”
