Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder, Emmanuel Petit, has urged England World Cup star, Declan Rice, to join the Gunners amid interest from the Blues.
Petit believes Rice, who currently plays for West Ham United, should join Arsenal if he wants to improve and win silverware.
Arsenal turned their attention towards Rice, who has been on Chelsea’s radar for some time.
Mikel Arteta’s side recently missed out on their priority target, Mykhaylo Mudryk, after Chelsea hijacked the 22-year-old Ukrainian from Shakhtar Donetsk for £89 million.
“Declan, if you are listening, my message is very simple,” Petit said on beIN Sports.
“If you want to improve – you are already a great player – and win silverware, you have to come to Arsenal! I’m sorry to West Ham fans, but I think there is no choice for him but to come here [the Emirates Stadium].”
Rice has entered the final 18 months of his contract with West Ham.
The England international is widely expected to leave the London Stadium in the summer.
