Nigeria forward, Cyriel Dessers has expressed his disappointment following Cremonese’s 3-2 defeat to Sassuolo on Monday night.
Cremonese trailed 2-0 at half-time, however, the introduction of Dessers for Ghana forward, Afena Gyan after the break changed things in their favour before they conceded again late on.
Dessers reduced the deficit for the visitors in the 62nd minute.
The 28-year-old then scored the leveller seven minutes from time after dribbling past Sassuolo goalkeeper.
Sassuolo took all three points, with Nedim Bajrami netting the winning goal deep into stoppage time.
“This result hurts. In the second half we did great, all together, also with the fans who were important, but the way it ended, this defeat is very painful.”Dessers told reporters.
“We did a great job, we are on the right track. We have to keep going like this and then the results will come naturally,”
Dessers has scored five goals in 19 league appearances for Cremonese this season.
