Ambassador Mamma pledges adequate support to MNJTF

The Executive Secretary of Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) who is also the Head of Mission (HoM) Ambassador Mamman Nuhu has pledged continuous support to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF). 

He made the pledge on Tuesday 2 May 2023 when the newly appointed Force Commander (FC) MNJTF Maj Gen GU Chibuisi led other senior officers of HQ MNJTF on a courtesy visit. 

The HoM stated that MNJTF is a strategic Force that has contributed immensely towards bringing peace and security to the Lake Chad Basin region saying the Force is a catalyst that has reduced the excesses of BH/ISWAP Terrorists activities in the region.

Speaking further, he lauded the MNJTF for the successes recorded against the terrorists which according to him was attested to by the leaders of the Troops Contributing Countries as well as the various strategic partners. 

Ambassador Nuhu further promised to work harmoniously with the new leadership of the MNJTF.

Earlier, the FC MNJTF Maj Gen GU Chibuisi expressed his appreciation for the warm reception accorded to him and his entourage. 

He reiterated his resolve to ensure that the MNJTF works assiduously to end the menace of BH/ISWAP Terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin region. 

He praised the HoM for his efforts in the fight against terrorists activities maintaining that the MNJTF will continue to confront the remnants of the terrorists with the highest sense of duty. 

General Chibuisi stated that he was in the LCBC to formally introduce himself to the HoM having fully assumed command of the MNJTF. 

He stressed that he is committed to maintaining the already existing cordial relationship between the MNJTF and the LCBC. 

He thanked the HoM for the strategic guidance he has always given to the Force which contributed to the numerous successes recorded in the fight against BH/ISWAP terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin region. 

In his words “We will continue to collaborate with the LCBC in order to benefit from the requisite experience needed in the ongoing fight against the Insurgents”.
