Sony Music Signs Singer 1da Banton In New Publishing Deal

Top music publishing company, Sony Music, has signed a new deal with fast-rising Nigerian singer, Godson Epelle, popularly known as 1da Banton.

In a statement on its Twitter page on Thursday, Sony Music officials stated that the unique sound of the No Wahala crooner drew them to him.

The statement read, “‘We’re excited about our collaboration with SMP Nigeria and the signing of the exceptional artist @1dabanton. His passion for music and his unique sound drew us to him, and we’re honoured to support him on his journey to global success.

“This partnership represents our commitment to discovering and nurturing diverse talent from around the world, and we can’t wait to work with 1da Banton and our colleagues at SMP Nigeria to elevate his artistry to even greater heights.’ — Patrick Strauch, Managing Director, and Marvin Lutz, A&R/Creative Manager, SMP Germany.”

1da Banton rose to stardom with his 2022 single ‘No Wahala’, and he went on to release the remix featuring Tiwa Savage and Kizz Daniel.
