Party management: North-central APC Youth leaders commend Abdullahi Adamu

North Central youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the national chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

The youth leaders drawn from the six states in the North-Central zone and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), said Adamu’s leadership recorded massive victory for the party in the February and March general elections.

They also congratulated President-elect, Bola Tinubu and the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, for emerging victorious in the presidential election.

The statement jointly signed by Suleiman Abdullahi – Niger Youth Leader and Idris Umar-Farouq – FCT Youth Leader and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, reads as follows :

“We bring greetings from our teeming members and supporters of our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC) from the seven states of the North Central geopolitical zone including FCT.

The All Progressives Congress-APC North Central Youth Leaders wish to congratulate our amiable National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and all members of our party’s National Working Committee (NWC) for successfully piloting the party to victory at tbe just concluded 2023 General Elections.

We also congratulate the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, and all governors-elect and elected members of tbe National and State legislatures. The victory of our party is a testament to the acceptability of the party by Nigerians.

But a recent development in the party has been of concern to many. While one will expect us to be celebrating the hard-earned victory of the party at the just concluded general elections, it is heart rendering that some elements within the top echelon of the party are bent on destabilising the party by causing unnecessary bickering over issues that can be internally resolved.

We however commend our able National Chairman for exhibiting a high level of maturity in handling the unwarranted provocations by those fanning the amber of discord in the party.

We the leaders of the Youth wing of the party in the six states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of the North Central zone, with the support of our teeming members, recently visited Muhammadu Buhari House, the National Headquarters of our great party in solidarity with the leadership of our great party. We acknowledged and appreciate the good work being done by Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led NWC.

The seven North Central Youth leaders of our great party met here in Abuja and resolved to declare our unflinching support and to openly affirm our confidence in the ability of the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu to lead this great party to greater heights. We are by this Press statement passing a Vote of Confidence on him. We strongly believe he has what it takes to take the Party to the desired destination.

“Going by the Chairman’s antecedents, pedigree and leadership processes, we can confidently say that Distingiush Senator Abdullahi Adamu is a blessing to our great party. His track record of achievements within the last year of his emergence as the APC National Chairman has shown that he is the right man for the job.

“We make bold to highlight some of the laudable achievements recorded by our great party under the able leadership of Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

It is on record that Distinguish Senator Abdullahi Adamu has succeeded in successfully conducted the party’s National convention and primaries across the 36 States of the Federation including FCT with little or no rancour. The leadership provided by Abdullahi Adamu-led NWC saw the party through in the conduct of these events. One can then attribute the huge success and electoral victory recorded by the party to the sagacity and the quality of the National Chairman.

“The renovation and beautification of the Muhammadu Buhari House, the party’s National Secretariat had further lifted the corporate image of the largest political party in Africa. We doubt if any political party can boost a headquarter like ours, even not the PDP which has abandoned theirs after billions of Naira expended on the project.

“It is to the credit of Senator Abdullahi Adamu and the pride of the over 40 million members of APC that we have a befitting headquarters.

“Making sure APC won in a landslide during Presidential, National Assembly, Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections with wide margins.

“APC breakthroughs in States like Benue, Rivers, Ebonyi and Cross Rivers which were strongholds of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were a testimony of a well-piloted party.

  1. Widening the membership and support base for the APC.
    To mention but a few.

“We believe that the party has the capacity and potential to further transform the political development of the country and that is why we call on all well-meaning party leaders and members to prevail on and call to order all these agents of destabilisation.

We equally commend the entire NWC for the mature manner the current leadership crisis of confidence was managed. The outcome of the last but one NWC meeting was a master stroke for those who were expecting an escalated crisis. The outcome of the meeting was a pointer that it is better to “jaw-jaw than to war-war”. While we commend the NWC, we hope that the lesson learnt by all will help to further enhance and deepen the spirit of party supremacy.

In conclusion, we want to reaffirm that the entire youths of the party in the North Central zone and indeed in all the 36 states of the country stand completely united behind the leadership of His Excellency, the National Chairman of our party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.”
