Director General, Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office, MCO, Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom has been recognized as the Most Outstanding Director General in the Mining Sector by the NUJ-FRCN Abuja Operations Chapel.
In a press release issued yesterday by Folasade Fatoke, Head Press, MCO, Nkom was awarded, during NUJ – FRCN Press Week activities held yesterday in Abuja.
According to NUJ Abuja Operations Chapel, the Director General was appreciated for his exceptional performances and reforms in the mining sector towards the development of the nation economy.
It further explained that the Agency under his leadership recorded increase in revenue generations raking in over N8.9 billion between 2019 and 2012.
Another reason the MCO boss was awarded is the recent unveiling reforms of automation of the mining cadastre system that have revolutionalised online and real time mineral title administration and management as practiced all over the world.
It was also expressed that Engr. Nkom stood out because of his good disposition towards the media adding that the DG opened up MCO when he established the Press Unit in the agency in 2019 after taking over the leadership of the Agency, this indeed endeared him to the Chapel.
