Anti Corruption Group urges synergy between DSS, EFCC

By Augustine Aminu

An anti-corruption crusader, Global Peace Movement International, UK has condemned the faceoff between the Department of Security Services (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as unfortunate and a threat to the fight against corruption.

President General of the group, Dr Mike Uyi in a telephone interview on Wednesday in London said it is expected that the two agencies work in synergy for the same government and nation for a common good of the nation.

Uyi noted that the two agencies are very important arm of government with each other’s roles spelt out clearly with mandates on what function to perform.

“It’s not a good sign that the DSS and EFCC are against each other, they both need to complement each other in their discharge of duties to the country.

“No matter what the issues are, their heads as a matter of facts are gentlemen of great records in their various fields and are well respected in the international communities should be given that benefit of thought to resolve the issues rather than this show that doesn’t give them good image.

“We at Global Peace Movement International are in full support of the two agencies to always fight to free the country of curruption and will stop at nothing to support them from the diaspora”.
