  1. Guinea is a country in West Africa which official name is The Republic of Guinea, it’s sometimes called Guinea-Conakry to distinguish it from Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea.
  2. The official language is French and the capital city is Conkary, Guinea Conakry also have a population of about 13 Million people.
  3. The River Niger, Senegal River, and the Gambia river all have their origin from Guinea-Conakry.
  4. Guinea Conakry houses Africa’s 4th largest mosque. The Grand Mosque hosts 25,000 worshippers almost every prayer time, interestingly, Guinea is a country with over 80% of its population practicing Islam.
  5. The tribes in Guinea are Fulani, Madinka, and Susu. It shares border with Mali, Liberia, Serria Leone and Senegal.
  6. Îles de Los is one of the most popular beaches at Guinea, it houses forests and views only particular to Guinea.
  7. Mount Nimba Strict Nature Reserve is a protected area and UNESCO World Heritage Site located in both Guinea and Côte d’Ivoire, extending over a total of area of 17,540 hectares (43,340 acres), with 12,540 hectares (30,985 acres) in Guinea, and 5,000 hectares (12,355 acres) in Côte d’Ivoire. The reserve covers significant portions of the Nimba Range, a geographically unique area with unusually rich flora and fauna, including exceptional numbers of single- site endemic species, such as viviparous toads, and horseshoe bats.
  8. The most popular cuisine in Guinea is Rice, they also make Jollof Rice.
