Tinubu taps Ahmed Raji as Attorney General on CJN Ariwoola’s recommendation, group alleges

A group, the Patriots Forum
has alerted of the plot to compromise the outcome of the work of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

The media has been awash of a plot to force the resignations of some members of the PEPC to pave the way for the Justice Haruna Tsammani-led PEPC hearing the petitions of Atiku Abubakar (PDP), Peter Obi and the Allied Progressive Movement (APM). The parties have since closed their cases and are currently filing their final written addresses ahead of the judgement of the court.

However, to compromise the eventual outcome of the process, Mr. Ahmed Raji may have been tapped as the Attorney General and Minister of Justice in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

According to the group, the reported conversation between Tinubu and Ariwoola may have yielded fruits and may have far-reaching consequences on the outcome of the work of PEPC, the judiciary, and democracy in Nigeria.

“We need to alert Nigerians to the incestuous affair between President Tinubu and the serving Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola that may birth Ahmed Raji as Attorney General and Minister of Justice. This followed the request made to Ariwoola by Tinubu for him to nominate an AGF for his administration.

“If the CJN who has the responsibility of empanelling the Supreme Court panel to hear the petitions of Atiku, Obi and APM against the election of Tinubu is the same person tapping an AGF for him, we can only use our tongues to count our teeth as to its implications for the outcome of the work of Presidential Election Petition Court. It is, to say the least, an ill-conceived move to destroy the fabrics of our judiciary, compromise our democracy and destabilise our country.”
