Plans to repeal the Anti Open Grazing Law of Benue State ongoing

By Aare Abiodun Oluwarotimi

If I understand the embattled Senator Emmanuel Udende well in his last statement where he blamed Benue’s insecurity on the enforcement of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law by the previous administration, then I can boldly say that the APC in the state have never been comfortable with this Law and they will do everything to repeal it now that a governor who was enthroned with the supports of Fulani herdsmen in on the Government House.

Benue people should shine their eyes very well as efforts to repeal the law in the name of reviewing it are being made.

Udende was speaking for Alia and I understand he plans to take the matter to the Senate soon so it can attract the attention of federal lawmakers who may condemn the law and call for its annulment.
