Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has empowered 130 widows with one hundred thousand naira each as capital to start their own businesses.

Engineer Sule equally empowered over 100 orphans with N5000 each, alongside bags of rice to support them towards improving their livelihoods.

The Governor distributed the cash and rice to the beneficiaries, at his Gudi country home, in Akwanga Local Government Area, on Saturday.

He urged the beneficiaries drawn from his immediate community of Gudi to utilize the money by engaging in businesses that will improve their condition of living.

Engineer Sule used the opportunity to make clarifications on the challenges being encountered by about 40 of the beneficiaries who were made to open new bank accounts in order to receive the largess.

He emphasized the need for the beneficiaries to engage in meaningful business activities in order to improve their livelihoods.
