The father-in-law of Worthy Brother Thomas Abutu, KSM, from the Central District Sub-Council, Abuja; WO2 Dennis Majali, was on Friday buried in his hometown, Imane in Olamaboro Local Government of Kogi State.
Brother Abutu described his father-in-law, late Majali as a man who feared God and impacted so many lives through his good deeds.
“My late father-in-law lived an impactful life and I appreciate the family for allowing me to marry their daughter”.
“When he was alive, he always cared for and supported everyone around him and most importantly, he had the fear of God,” Abutu said.
In his sermon at the funeral at Holy Spirit Catholic Church Imane, Rev. Fr. Cornelius Eneojo Ameh said the deceased, having accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour can also say with confidence that he had fought a good fight.
He also reminded the Church that the book of Ecclesiastes stressed that “the day of death is better than the day of birth”.
He said when a child is born, there will be challenges, inequality, strife and serious human encumbrances, but when a human being dies, it is an end to all human strife, maintaining that for a Christian, death opens the door to a glorious hereafter.
He challenged the Christians of this contemporary time to be conscious of the Lord’s second coming.
He said, WO2 Dennis Majali has gone to be with the Lord, but for us whom he left behind, how prepared are we if the end comes?”
On her part, Worthy Sister Mary Abutu, LSM, the wife of Brother Thomas Abutu and the daughter of the deceased, said it was an honour for her deceased father, WO2 Dennis Majali to bring her into the world.
“If given another opportunity to choose a father, I would choose him again and again as a father who made a difference”.
“He is selfless – gives his last for others – a lover of peace; his sacrificial life is worth emulating. He taught me from childhood, to value family and others”.
‘Baba, you shall be greatly missed, rest in the bosom of our Lord,’ she said.
Brothers from the 10:10:2020 of the St. Mulumba Central District Sub-Council were heavily represented by Brother Godwin Imakhia KSM, Onaga Odera KSM, Daniel Okoebor KSM and Emmanuel Righteous KSM.
