Plateau govt expresses worries over child trafficking

Plateau state government on Tuesday  expressed worries  over recent incidences of child trafficking in the state.

To this end,the State Executive council has resolved to put in place, modalities to address the ugly trend.

State commissioner for  Information and Communication, Mister Musa Ashoms made this known after the State Executive Council, SEC meeting, held at the Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.

Our correspondent reports that the  Commissioner who noted that  the issue was portraying the state in bad light, disclosed that  council discussed extensively on the matter  particularly as it involves children.

Mr Ashoms also stated that council agreed to look into the nomenclature of the various ministries with a view to re-aligning them to meet present realities. 

The  council  according to him, observed with dismay the non- adherence of the 6am to 6pm operation period for tricycle operators and the increasing rate of activities of motor cycle operators which he re-echoed remains  banned.

The information Commissioner  expressed the state  EXCO’s resolve to  urgently settle down to the business of governance  to meet up with the expectations of the people.
