Joseph Abu, a foremost Igala folklorist and storyteller has died.
Abu’s folklore were told uniquely in songs with an old gong as the only musical instrument.
Abu’s first recorded story “Etube” was waxed when Abu was only twelve years old and it turned out to be his greatest track.
Other popular folklore of Abu are: Ewune Om’obo, Otidi, Alime, Agwude and others.
Though Abu’s songs were very popular in Igala homes across the country, Abu largely lived a moderate life until his death.
