Track plot to truncate democracy, FG orders service chiefs

The Minister of State Defence, Bello Matawalle, has issued a stern warning against any groups or individuals propagating violence against the peaceful coexistence and harmony being enjoyed by the law-abiding citizens of the nation.

The Minister, who was responding to a high rate of fake news, rumour mongers, those propagating hate speeches, and promoters of violence, in an interview directed all security chiefs in the county to be on the alert to deal decisively with anyone found engaging in any act capable of truncating the nation’s democracy.

He said security agencies should ensure total compliance with the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic.

The Minister said the present government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, meant well for all Nigerians and is making every effort to make the country better for all of us and should be supported by all.

Matawalle said the President should be respected by the citizens to give him and his government the courage to do what it takes to make this country great.

He said the Ministry for Defence would not condone any act capable of disrupting the peace and tranquillity of the country.
