He isn’t the only one that walked and worked with Buhari for eight years, we all did. He isn’t the only person that acted as the Special Adviser to the President on Media and publicity, we the masses all did that job too. We even were better Media and publicity advisers to the president than he was.
Ours were pro bono, nobody paid us and we were under no authority to influence our unbiased reportage. We said it the way it was without fear or favor.
His was more of a sycophancy, doing the biddings of the one who pays the piper and constantly he was in desperation to safeguard his meal ticket.
“Working with Buhari” by Femi Adesina , from the synopsis of the book was nothing short of a desperate and deliberate move to paint the eight years of horror, pains, woes, falagelation, scourge and hellish experiences to one of lies, comic relief and painted grave of stinking relics.
I wouldn’t blame Femi for going that route of a deliberate painted narrative of an obvious bad situation with a white washing rhetorics, exhibiting nothing but messianism. May be I would equally do as he did if I were in his shoes.
Eight Years of the masses work and walk with Buhari was the most tedious walk and work. One that inflicted footcracks, muscle pulls and dizziness as the eight years walk and work were down heel into the dark ages of non electricity, non portable water, non digital communications, etc. Imagine such era! Such was where he took us retrogresively, barefooted on the very path filled with pebbles of frustration, thorns of insurgency, valleys of economic downturn and hot spots of looting, corruption and criminality.
Some of the humours of President Buhari as chronicled in that book were ones that defined the personality of the president.
It may have come in a very humorous way, however, the message was not in anyway lost on any sensitive Nigerian.
He was one President who could effortlessly laugh at himself( Baa kwo mi) One President who wasn’t in control of the security architecture of the system, who wouldn’t see it as strange and possibly laugh over it if he or the vice president were to be kidnapped.
He was one President who would cross his legs, pick his teeth and throw comics at very critical and sensitive situations that wrenched and dried life out of the masses.
What Femi did in his book Working With Buhari… was a hype man’s job, laundry the dirty and near irredeemable Image of an administration that unleashed hardship on the poor masses.
It is a book, which can only be read inversely or ironically for a better appreciation of the real damage of the eight years of Buhari’ administration.
Femi blew out of proportion the very achievements of his principal. Though Buhari gained some positive mileages, but the areas of his failures, his indifference, lacklustre and colossal damages outweighed his few heaters of positives.
Working with Buhari by Femi Adesina is more of a praise singing documentary of his eight years than a critical analysis of the challenges , failures and achievements of his two term tenures.
If you are bored and wants to have some moments of humour, read Working with Buhari by Femi . If your head is filled with the horror realities of Nigeria, pick Working with Buhari by Femi Adesina and the smoke of illusion will sedate you.
If you are such a person that fears realities and scares to hear the depth of decay under the watch of Buhari’ eight years administration, go read Working with Buhari by Femi Adesina.
Congratulations to Femi Adesina on the book and your avowed decision to remain a Buharist. You did what you were expected to do as his image maker for eight years.
You were paid for the job, you did well from the perceptive of your work schedule, but in reality and within the armbit of sound conscience , you knew that Nigerians were railroaded into hell by your principal who listened more than he acted.
The objective of your book is questioned by some of your narratives blown out of proportion .
Working With Buhari by the masses is the deal! A masterpiece of objectivity and honest presentation of the eight years of Buhari administration. It is a book unlike Femi’, written under no compelling influence to make bad look good, lies look true, shame look like honor and integrity.
It is book that chronicled the horror, the gory, the pains, the degradation of human values, the enthronement of corruption and the insensitive of the President on the wailing Nigerians whose hope for a better future promised was sunk and destroyed before their face.
I invite Femi to read this book and compare. If his conscience is still sound, he would go in his secret place, off the prying eyes of his master to weep and ask for God’s mercy.
His lies expecially on national and international televisions though suptle but dented on value, integrity and ethics.
My eyes are red! How can one be that barefaced in lies?
