Peter Obi Urges Probe Into Alleged N3.5 Billion Scandal in Labour Party

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has called for a thorough investigation into financial impropriety allegations against the party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure.

During a media briefing in Abuja, Obi stressed the need for transparency, proposing the appointment of a reputable audit firm to examine the party’s accounts.

The LP’s National Working Committee recently suspended National Treasurer Oluchi Oparah for six months amid accusations and counter-accusations.

Obi appealed for accountability in funds received for the 2023 Obi-Datti presidential campaign, revealing details of N595,976,994.00 received from donations, legal expenses, and other expenditures.
