Dekina PDP Crisis: Ejini Threatens to Suspend Wada, Chief Odawn, Others

The crisis rocking the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State took a new twist on Saturday as embattled party Chairman Husseini Ejini moved to suspend former Governor of the State, Capt. Idris Wada, Chief John Odanw, John Yakubu, Mrs. Eke Iyaji, and other party stakeholders.

At the meeting with factional chairman Hon. Tom Zekeri, it was disclosed that Capt. Wada didn’t support Dino in the last election and therefore cannot remove Ejine, who worked for the party.

The embattled Chairman of Dekina Division, Husseini Ejini, stated through Hon. Tom Zekeri that he ensured the suspension was overturned because Capt. Wada, who is behind the suspension, never supported Dino. Wada didn’t return home, and there is no way we will fold our hands and allow that to happen, a source in the meeting disclosed.

Hon. Tom Zekeri also urged Ejine’s faction to visit Mrs. Grace Atawodi, who relocated to Abuja, and mount more pressure to ensure that the distractors don’t have their way.

Tom, who came home for a burial, promised Ejini that his seat as chairman is secure, and Ejini, in return, confirmed Tom Zekeri as the new leader of PDP in Dekina, demanding that Tom should drop his house key in Iyale for him. All meetings that were held at Chief Odawn’s house in Egume will now be in Iyale, showing everyone that Tom is the new leader.

He(Tom) said, “the key is always with his brother who is at home.” Ejine further threatened to suspend Capt. Idris Wada, Chief John Odanw, John Yakubu, Mrs. Eke Iyaji, and others.

The faction also asked Tom Zekeri to nominate the person to fill the position of state PRO that is already zoned to Dekina. Tom suggested Hon. Khalid Mohammed for the position, as he has demonstrated loyalty to him.
