Reps extend holiday by a week, to resume 23 April

The House of Representatives has extended its holiday by one week and is set to resume on 23rd April.

The clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria announced the extension on Thursday in a statement.

It would be recalled that the House was scheduled to resume on 16th April, however, it has now been postponed by a week.

Mr Danzaria said the postponement is to allow the completion of the green chamber which has been under renovation for the past two years.

“I write to respectfully inform you that the resumption date from the ongoing recess has been rescheduled from Tuesday, April 16, 2024, to Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

“This adjustment is necessary to allow for the completion of renovations to the chamber of the House of Representatives, ensuring its readiness for plenary sessions, henceforth.

“All inconveniences are highly regretted. Your understanding or cooperation regarding this change is highly appreciated. Please make necessary adjustments to your schedules and ensure your presence on the new resumption date,” the statement reads.
