Eid-el-Fitr: Nasarawa Acting Governor felicitates with Muslims, calls for prayers on economy, security

Nasarawa State Acting Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe has felicitated with the Muslim faithful as they observe this year’s Eid-el-Fitr marking the end of the Ramadan fast.

In an address to mark the occassion issued on Wednesday in Lafia, the Acting Governor enjoined Muslim faithful in the state and country at large to continue to pray fervently for the recovery of the economy and prosperity of the country.

Dr. Akabe particularly implored the people of Nasarawa State to support the economic policy of the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, geared towards the restoration of the economy of the country to its former glory.

He also called on Muslim faithful to pray for leaders at all levels in order for them to govern with the fear of God by epitomizing the virtues of justice, humility and service for the good of humanity.

While felicitating with Muslims for celebrating the end of the Ramadan fast, the Nasarawa Acting Governor, urged Muslims to remain steadfast in applying the virtues of the Ramadan by sustaining supplication, piousness and exemplary communing with each other.

According to him, the people must continue to indulge in prayers for the peace, security and economic prosperity of Nasarawa State.

Part of the address reads: “Let me use the opportunity of this celebration to enjoin our Muslim Ummah to continue to pray fervently for the recovery of the economy and prosperity of our dear nation. Perhaps, I should implore the people of Nasarawa State to support the economic policy of the Federal Government under the leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, geared towards the restoration of our economy back to its glory.

“As we celebrate this Sallah, I beseech you all to re-affirm your obedience to Allah’s injunctions as contained in the noble Qur’an and follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).

“Let me also use this special occasion to call on my dear people of Nasarawa State to continue to accommodate each other’s beliefs and values in order to sustain peace, harmony, socio-cultural and economic prosperity.

“At this juncture, I assure our brothers from other regions of the country that Nasarawa State is a miniature Nigeria that accommodates everybody irrespective of tribe, region, religion or any other creed. I, therefore, call on all and sundry to remain law abiding citizens and go on in pursuit of their lawful means of livelihood.

“In conclusion, as we celebrate this Eid-el-Fitr, I appeal to the good people of Nasarawa State to remain vigilant in order to ensure a safer society for harmonious co-existence. I also call on road users to obey traffic regulations, just as I urge the officials of Federal Road Safety Commission and other security agencies to intensify enforcement of the laws during the festivity.”
